I've been working on a big old feature documentary set in a tropical paradise for the past 6 weeks and we are currently in the edit. Here's a bit about the film:

Me and Lea Emmery designed and decorated a fun kitchen set for Tilly Ramsay's new cooking show this month.

​We transformed a very tasteful kitchen in muted Farrow and Ball into a very loud and youthful space which Gordon Ramsay said was "brilliant". High praise from the big man himself.

Coppafeel! (the breast cancer awareness charity) have had a sexy new rebrand and I have them a hand with getting their old assets updated and a put together a new recruitment video for their hugely successful youth outreach program. I've worked with Coppafeel! for years and they are the most amazing charity with the most important message - sign up to their text alerts and check your chest! 

For the last 6 months I have worked with Peckham Platform to document several works of public art and multiple talks and events. 

Rye Lane Reconnected is a community-led creative programme supporting engagement and collaboration between leading social artists, residents and frontline community groups to collaboratively commission and create artworks for Peckham’s historic and iconic Rye Lane.

Over the course of a year young people from South London Refugee Association, Southwark’s Youth Justice Service and Inspire Walworth collaborated with artists including Lesley Asare, Tyreis Holder, Meera Shakti Osborne and Koby Martin. Together, they explored community, heritage and identity to reconnect to public spaces on their own terms. 

I worked with Charlie Stanfield from Starling to make this series of films explaining the medical and societal benefits of the 6-in-1 Infanrix Hexa vaccine.

Dr. Anita Raja fronted the Ask Me Anything concept, answering questions about the efficacy and history of the treatment. The films will be used by heath care practitioners all over the world to gain a better understanding of how to present the vaccine to parents.

We had a great creative concept, with the questions in envelopes hanging from the ceiling, which added colour and movement to the frame. With vaccine hesitancy on the rise, this felt like a really worthwhile film to make. It's not often you can say a film you made will literally save lives! 

I've wanted to write a script about parenting for a long time. It's such a singular, yet relatable experience. So when my agent suggested I come up with a TV idea that leans heavily on my own experiences as a mum, I thought, why not?

VENGEFUL MOTHERS is a TV comedy drama about three broke single mothers who move in together and plot to extort money from their enemies with increasingly hazardous consequences…

The inspiration for the show initially came from my own hilarious, awful, wonderful experiences of early motherhood. In a hurricane of bodily brokenness and near-total sleep deprivation, I felt a loss of identity, self-hood and (occasionally) sanity, acute stress on my career, friendships and relationships, and the more intense, all consuming joy and love it’s humanly possible to feel. It felt like fertile ground for drama.

Even before I became a parent, I have always been interested in the specific experience of being a mother. Back in 2018, I made a short experimental documentary called ‘MOTHER’S DAY’ which combined interviews with new mums about the more challenging aspects of the role, intercut with ‘beauty’ footage of the women and their babies, taking them outside of their parenting roles as they discuss their new reality with startling honesty.

My first script commission was about a female MMA fighter and NHS nurse who has two children, and the story delves into her struggle with balancing parenthood and career. I wrote the first draft of the script when my daughter was three months old, and since exploring those ideas in the MMA script I have wanted to dive deeper into what it means to be a mother, how friendships with other parents develop, and how romantic relationships are affected.

My hope is that whilst being entertaining, comedic and at times a little camp, this show will expose with searing honestly the often unseen hardships of early parenthood, and that this will be relatable for those who have been through it themselves (and smugly hilarious for those who haven’t.)
